How To Get Get More Followers On Instagram

People who use Instagram always want more followers. If they are new, they want more followers, and if they have used Instagram for years, they want more followers.
People always want to be popular in real life, and that is the same on their social networks. Instagram is no different and the people who have a lot of followers can make a living off their social networks.

If you are new to Instagram, then it can be a little bit intimidating, but you should take your time and have fun. Don't be worrying if you only have followers who are your friends in real life. The more you post, the more followers you will get.
Schedule

If you want to be popular on Instagram and you want to keep your followers, then you have to post often. If you want to take it a bit more seriously, you should stick to a posting schedule, so your followers know when the new image is going to be updated.
If you have some downtime and you don't post for a while, then your followers might delete you in favor of following someone else. Your friends in real life won't do this to you, but if you have followers who follow you because they have similar interests, then they might unfollow you.
Tagging

When you first upload to Instagram, you probably won't know to use tags. This is something that is true for everyone, when they first started using the website or App. So, don't think that you are on your own here.

Even the most popular Instagrammer has a first image and if you go through their history to find it, they probably won't have any tags on it.
However, you should learn quickly that you should be tagging your pictures if you want to make more friends. If you don't tag, then the image will only be visible to users who are already on your friends list.

This is because there is nothing attached to the image, to make it searchable. For example, if you tag your image with the word 'football,' then when other users search for 'football,' the image will appear in the search results.
That is how you get more followers. When someone finds your images and they are interested in whatever the tag is they will add you to their friends list because they are interested in seeing more.
Social Networks

It is possible to find more followers by using your other social media platforms. If you link social networks like Twitter and Facebook to your Instagram, then the image will be shared there when you post to Instagram.

You will get more followers this way because your tags will also work on those social networks. So, you will get followers with similar interests. You might even engage followers who don't have Instagram. You post might be the post that gets them to join Instagram.
Trends

You can also get more followers by looking at the hashtag trends and posting an image that suits that trend. For example, if you know that a lot of people post POTD (picture of the day) tags, then you can post an image on that similar trend.

It could be anything that you want and a lot of people will see it. Once you have posted with this tag a few times, you will notice that people who like pictures of the day will start to add you as their friend. Your exposure will have doubled.

Get Popular On Vine To Get Followers Likes And Loops

It can be frustrating if you’re new to Vine and hardly anyone is following you. I remember when I first signed up, I was really struggling to get my first 50 followers. Even my best videos were getting only a few likes, and I wasn’t getting any feedback for my videos. That’s when I decided it was time to get popular on Vine using the techniques discussed below.

Using the techniques described in this article, I was able to get 49 thousand real Vine followers, and today all my videos get hundreds of likes and dozens of comments. While it takes a lot of work to get thousands of followers and your own goals might be different, I can tell you that Vine gets a lot more fun when more people are following you.

Step 1: Build a Portfolio

Before you start doing anything else, you want your Vine profile to look great. Nobody is going to follow an empty profile. If you want other people to follow you, the first thing you should do is upload about 15 – 20 really good videos. If you don’t have that many, keep working on it, and make sure you don’t post any videos that aren’t good.

If your goal is to get popular, it’s absolutely essential that the videos you post are of great quality. It’s far better to post nothing than it is to post a bad video. If you’re only starting out, it’s generally a good idea to improve your videography before attempting to build an audience on Vine since people only like to follow videographers with interesting videos.

Also, keep in mind that certain types of videos do particularly well on Vine. From my experience beach videos, interesting reflection videos and sunset videos tend to get the most likes on Vine. Portrait videos generally get fewer likes. To give you an example, this reflection video got more likes than almost any other video I have posted on Vine.

Get Popular On Vine 2

While I think this is a great video, I have other less popular videos that I think are better. However, if you want to get popular on Vine, it’s important that you post the kind of videos your followers want to see, which is why I often share beach videos. If you want to get more followers on Vine, it’s always a good idea to post the kind of videos that get more likes.

If you use Vine to share what you eat for dinner and how you hang out with friends, don’t expect people who don’t know you to start following you. If you’re a teen pop star or a really attractive girl, this strategy might work for you, but I don’t think it’s the kind of audience any serious iPhone videographer would want to build.

Once again, it’s absolutely essential that you only post your best videos, even if it means only posting a few times per week. Nobody wants their Vine feed to be flooded with subpar videos from people they don’t know.

Step 2: Get Noticed

Once you’ve uploaded some really good videos and made your profile look interesting, it’s time to attract everyone’s attention. There are several ways you can do it, and I’m going to discuss all of them in the following section of this article.

Get Popular On Vine 1

First, you should start off with reaching out to your existing friends and followers from other social networks. Since those people already know you, they’re far more likely to become a follower, and often all you need to do is let them know that you’re now using Vine. You can simply send a message or share a post inviting your friends to follow you.

If you have a large following on another social network such as Twitter and Facebook, you can cross-post your Vine videos to these social networks. That way you’ll be building your Vine following while sharing interesting videos with people who want to see them anyway!

Next, you should utilize relevant hashtags when posting videos on Vine. That way your videos will show up in the hashtag feeds, which is a good way to get your videos in front of more people. The keyword here is relevant since there’s really no need to spam your posts with dozens of irrelevant hashtags (that will only make you look like a spammer).

Besides hashtags, one of the easiest ways to get in front of other people is to simply start following a lot of people. Just find someone with videos that are similar to yours, and start following the followers of that person. They will get a notification saying that you are now following them, and many of them will check out your profile.

If you just follow somebody and don’t like or comment on any of their videos, you’re a ghost follower. Vine users generally don’t like ghost followers because scam artists use this strategy to promote their fake profiles. You’ll get better results if you also comment on the videos of the people you start following. That way they’ll know you’re a real person.

If following many other people is too impractical, you can also get a lot of exposure by leaving meaningful comments on the videos of other people. When you leave a thoughtful and positive comment, there’s a good chance that the author of that video will become curious to check out your profile. And if your profile is good, you’ll get a new follower.

However, commenting on the iPhone is slow and tedious, and you’ll get much faster if you use an Vine web service such as IconoSquare that allows you to quickly and systematically leave comments from your computer.

Your commenting should be targeted, meaning that you should only leave comments to people who have a high chance of becoming your followers. How do you find such people? It’s easy – all you need to do is search for people who do the same kind of videography as you do using relevant hashtags.

So if you’re a landscape videographer, you could search for hashtags such as #landscape, #mountains and #outdoors as the people posting videos with these hashtags are far more likely to enjoy your profile and thus become your followers. You can quickly browse through videos that were submitted to a particular hashtag using the search function of IconoSquare.

Finally, your comments are far more likely to get noticed by people who don’t have hundreds of likes or thousands of followers (since they get less comments) and when the video you’re commenting on has been posted recently.

Step 3: Engage With Your Followers

While everyone gets obsessed with the number of followers, keeping your followers happy and engaged is equally important if you want to build a relationship with them and get the most out of your Vine experience.

First, you should post regularly so that people don’t forget who you are. That’s why I share videos daily on my @iPhonePS account where I have built a large and responsive community of people who are looking forward to seeing more videos from me.

But at the same time, you don’t want to be posting too often. There’s nothing worse than sharing multiple videos at once since they will take up a lot of space in the feed of your followers. If somebody doesn’t like one of your videos, the chances are that they’ll still keep following you, but when you post three videos in a row, you’re far more likely to lose a follower.
